The story
In October 2022, I guided a group of inquisitive travellers through Lebanon and Syria. It had been over five years since the devastating civil war, yet the destruction was still evident everywhere. The war had impacted all regions except the core of Damascus and a few other places, leaving behind terrible marks across the nation.

During the Syrian civil war, the Syrian military and opposition clashed over Homs, a key rebel stronghold. Despite the turmoil, Syria is still a desirable destination, boasting a rich history, stunning architecture, ancient ruins, and welcoming villages and towns.
