The story

Visit the Lahore Fortress in Pakistan early in the morning to enjoy it without the crowds. The Badshahi Mosque is a part of the fort. When we arrived, we were almost alone in the courtyard. A man was sweeping the floor with a large broom. The atmosphere was peaceful, sunny, and the air was cool and refreshing - it was perfect! Inside, the mosque was simply stunning. I could have stayed there for hours.

I was very impressed by the huge space and the unique atmosphere. After a few shots, I sat down in the corner and enjoyed the silence, the light and the emptiness of the space around me.

The Badshahi Masjid is from the Mughal period, a significant example of Mughal architecture. Its exterior is decorated with carved red sandstone and marble inlays. It is the largest masjid from the Mughal period and the second largest in Pakistan.
