I’m Pavel! My documentary photography focuses on social, environmental, and cultural issues, with an emphasis on conveying a strong sense of place and cultural awareness.
I wouldn’t place titles like “adventurer”, “traveller”, or “professional photographer” before my name because… well, I’m not. I simply try to do what I love and let the outcomes and achievements speak for themselves.
I’ve been traveling intensively since 2010 and have visited more than 40 countries and regions. Recent trips—solo or with small groups—have taken me to Bangladesh, Pakistan, India (Ladakh/Rajasthan), China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan (with the Pamir Highway), Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand (including the north), Hong Kong, Macao, Mongolia (the Gobi Desert), Turkey (the southeast), Jordan, Morocco, Egypt (Siwa and the Western Desert), Eritrea, South Africa, Mauritania, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Russia (Siberia/Yakutia), Greece (Mount Athos), Kosovo, Romania, Montenegro, Norway (Svalbard), Moldova, Ukraine (Chernobyl), Iceland, Bulgaria—and, of course, Europe.
In 2014, I registered a travel agency (http://thousandvoyages.net) and began organizing and leading tours to off-the-beaten-path places. I design all itineraries and programs myself. My groups are small, and we travel slowly.
