The Zelenika festival in Strandja Mountains is held every year in May. The festival is timed with the flowering period of the Strandja Zelenika (Rhododendron ponticum), which is the symbol of the Strandja Nature Park Park.

MALKO TARNOVO AND THE AREA AROUND, BULGARIA

Malko Tarnovo is a town in southeastern Bulgaria 5 km from the Turkish border, part of Burgas Province. Malko Tarnovo is the only town in the interior of the Bulgarian Strandzha Mountains, with the other important settlements being located on the coast.
