Durankulak Lake is 446.5 hectares and is one of the best- preserved coastal wetlands in Bulgaria with international importance for the protection of over 260 endemic, rare and endangered species of plants and animals. Madzharovo is a small Bulgarian town in the Eastern Rhodopes, part of Haskovo Province. The town has a population of only 686, making it one of the smallest in the country, and is situated on the banks of the river Arda.
